AUSTIN (AP) — Weeks after winning more Grammys, Willie Nelson is getting a new kind of honor: a university endowment in Texas.The 89-year-old country music icon, who in the 1980s helped launch the Farm Aid benefit concerts, is the namesake of the new Willie Nelson Endowment for Uplifting Rural Communities at the University of Texas’ LBJ School of Public Affairs, the school announced Wednesday.The endowment will fund research and student fellowships benefiting rural and farm communities. GOSHEN, N.Y. (NEWS10) — LEGOLAND New York Resort has become the latest attraction to become a Certified Autism Center. When the 2023 season opens on March 31st, every ride will have a sensory guide for attractions with bright lights or loud sounds to help accommodate kids on the spectrum. ST. LOUIS - Police have arrested a man accused of throwing rocks at cars from a bridge onto a St. Louis highway. Phillip Carter, 37, is behind bars in connection with the rock-throwing incidents. He was booked into jail Friday after being questioned in the investigation, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. ST. LOUIS - A man was robbed at gunpoint by his girlfriend's son and two others Friday in north St. Louis while he was working on his girlfriend's son's car. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department says the situation unfolded around noon Friday in the 6000 block of Emma Avenue in the Walnut Park West neighborhood. The victim told police he was starting to work on his girlfriend's son's car when he went inside the home to find the proper equipment. The son, along with another woman, entered the victim's home while he went inside. SAN FRANCISCO – A 36-year-old Oakland man is facing up to life in prison after a jury convicted him of child sex trafficking and producing child pornography, federal prosecutors said.The jury found Kenneth Orlando Sparks guilty of trafficking the teenage victim on the “Blade,” a term used to describe commercial sex strips in San Francisco and Oakland, as well as recording videos of himself having sex with the victim in July 2019.In a statement Thursday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Sparks arranged to transport the teen to and from the Blade and offered her advice and instruction while she was working. He also reportedly disregarded a warning about the victim’s age.Authorities opened an investigation into Sparks after San Francisco police officers stopped him and the teen in July 2019.
